I recently acquired a Vistaquest 3Mpx mini-camera. Vistaquest is a small company specialized in making very small cameras with not much quality; made of plastic and without LCD screen, the pictures taken are very saturated and very contrasty. I bought the VQ-3005 model to play and see what can you get with one of them; it has a F2.8 lens, it cost me 40 euros (50 dollars) and its size is similar to that of a lighter.
These are some of the photos that I’ve been able to get; to center the camera correctly is quite complicated because of the lack of screen, but maybe thanks to that some of the pictures are more interesting. The only pictures that I’ve retouched are the ones in black and white, the rest I’ve uploaded them as the camera took them.
If you are interested, you can browse around this search in Flickr where you can see really impressive photos taken with Vistaquest cameras.

Looks like a fun to use camera. I’ll try to buy one.
Hi there! I have a Vistaquest VQ1005 that I probably paid more than $50 for. Any idea what’s new with the 3005? I’d love to know where you bought it (store/online), and maybe I’ll get one too. Your pictures do seem sharper than mine.
Check out my iPhone and toy camera photography site if you have a minute – http://pocketplastic.com/
Cheers
Bah! This looks like just a kind of camera I would need! So tiny½
wow, such effects. Did you pick the camera up in Japan or did you get it shipped to you?
@Paul I bought it from Rakuten (Japanese ecommerce site) http://en.item.rakuten.com/prokitchen/vq1015entryb/

That link leads to a page on the same VQ1005 model I have, and the other link you gave is for the VQ1015 model, which I think is a slight upgrade. I guess yours isn’t a 3005 and that was a typo? Thanks anyway!
My bad, the VQ3005 is 3mp as you’ve said. I’m sure I’ll find one on Rakuten with a little hunting. Thanks again.
I suppose a camera which makes you guess at the composition creates a sort of found art.
@kirainet I checked the site and it’s sold out, plus shipping to the U.S. is about $165. Is there an alternative supplier in the US that you know about or do I have to go through Rakuten?
these pics look definitely beautiful mostly because of the sights and most of our mobiles have the same function i think, so is it worthy of a try?
