Coffee Art Evolves

The popularity of the art of “drawing” on coffee foam has quickly spread all over the world. There’s already a World Latte Art Championship (which is usually won by Japanese artists). The coffee foam art techniques are evolving fast; now artists can create 3D coffee foam art and some artists can even add colors to their designs (watch the video at the end of this post).

2 Melons For $15,700 USD

At an auction in Sapporo two yubari melons were sold for 1,6 million yen ($15,700 USD / €12,200 EUR). Yubari melons are one of the favourite melon types of the Japanese people.

Microsoft Excel Art

Tatsuo Horiuchi is a 73 year-old artist that uses Microsoft Excel as a tool to create his works of art. He started his hobby when he retired and chose Excel because it was a cheaper software than graphic editors like for example Adobe Photoshop. Moreover, according to Tatsuo Horiuchi, Excel has more drawing tools than some graphic editors like Microsoft Paint. These are some of his creations:
