Meiji Jingu at night

Today was the 50th anniversary since the shrine Meiji Jingu was rebuilt after it was destroyed during the Second World War. For the celebration they did not close the shrine at 5 pm as usual, today Meiji Jingu it was opened until 8:30h and there was special illumination everywhere. It was really beautiful!

Those are people, but with the blue light and a long exposition they look like spectrums

Wow, this is awesome.
I love HDR shots, I love temple shots and I love night shots, so this is really something for me. ^^
To bad I’m not in Japan right now, I would have also liked very much to make some pictures.

Last year I was lucky enough to accidentally drop by the Hamarikyu-en (?) during an illumination event. I didn’t have my tripod with my but I managed some nice shots laying the camera on rocks and posts.

I don’t know why, but all the pictures on my blog are suddenly gone since this afternoon. Normally you can view them here:

I hope, I can fix this over the weekend…

WOW these are incredible, please do make some widescreen wallpapers too if you can! I loved seeing Meiji shrine during the day, but this is spectacular.

Awesome! I’d give an arm and a leg to be there and see the place for real!

What are the lanterns all about?

Wow, very through, thanks. My girlfriend is actually Otaku and spends an inordinate amount of time over there dressed like a French maid. Oh well, at least she gets paid to be there.
thanks again
