This is amazing. But is that face-down-in-the-noodle-plate-picture 4 real? That poor man must have drowned.
These are..breathtaking. Really wonderful. I am an American who has been living in Turkey for a long time. Turks don’t sleep in public, but I did not even notice that fact until I saw this blog post. You seem to be implying that it is a common thing.
My favorites are the white haired guy on the park bench and the woman directly beneath him with the with the fabulous bronze bag on her arm.
Thanks 🙂
The guys face in the ramen bowl, that’s classic. The sleeping Japanese pictures are some of the funniest pictures I have seen. Japanese people are always tired for some reason. They don’t get a lot of sleep at night?
This shows they work hard! And I respect that, totally.
My faves are the first photo, the man on the beach and the woman sleeping in a sitting position and she is not actually sitting anywhere I guess? o_O
haha, when I was in Japan myself I found it was pretty easy to fall asleep on the trains and such.
One of the funniest instances I saw of sleeping in public was at Osaka castle–someone was sleeping behind the part of gate that has bars on it. It’s really hard to explain, but in the picture my friend took it looked like he was sleeping in a prison.
People sleeping!
& in Japan!
This post is really… yawn.
Showing pple at their worst position is bad taste. In any country.
Give me a cup of tropical rum at an electronics convention in New York, and I too will become a sleeping Japanese.
The ramen bowl was the best.
A sleep in a bowl of ramen!
Did you stay to see what happened when he woke up?
Dude, no way.
You must’ve asked them to fake sleep or something.
This is getting crazy O__o
It’s the air I tell you, the air!
It’s rather dry compared to back in Singapore.
Totally insane! 🙂
But then again, walking all day in the city plus working your arse off at all hours is bound to make you tired.
It would really suck if someone dies; no one would bother to check as sleeping in public seems to be quite common.
Haha, they just sleep everywhere! 🙂
First one is really nice!

ok, good one, I saw many sleeping in the library in Takatsuki. A real good place to find sleeping people must be besides trains in a nice library, Good hunt, Guus
