Ghibli Museum

I had vague memories of my visit to the Ghibli Museum 7 years ago; I went for work and I think I didn’t really enjoy my time there. Last week I had the opportunity to visit it again, without rushing, enjoying every corner like if we were children. I loved it, it made me forget that I was in Tokyo, it felt like some kind of travel to the universe of Ghibli animation movies.

Here you have information about the museum, how to get there, and how to buy tickets.

Kokurikozaka Kara (コクリコ坂から) – A movie by Goro and Hayao Miyazaki

Next month we will have a new Ghibli movie in Japan. Kokurikozaka Kara (コクリコ坂から, “From Kokuriko’s hill”) is the second movie directed by Goro Miyazaki after Gedo Senki. It seems that father and son have come to terms after their difficulties with Gedo Senki when Hayao Miyazaki expressed his concerns with the movie and did not really work in the production. This time, Hayao Miyazaki has been completely involved in the movie, writing the script and drawing most of the storyboards together with Keiko Niwa and working closely with his son Goro, the director. We could say that this is the first movie made by the Miyazaki’s: father and son.

The movie is based in this manga from the 80s with the same name:
