I have already been using my new Canon S90 for some months. Even though I use it mostly to take random pictures for the blog, sometimes in a while I get some pretty decent photos; here you have some examples of what I have achieved with this wonderful pocket camera.
This is an example of how great is the macro in Canon compact cameras:

I hear great things about the S90. I keep going back and forth on whether to buy the s90 or another lens for my dSLR. I’m leaning towards the s90, but we’ll see.
Wonderful photos, btw. The macro one is really cool, and I love all the b&w ones.
Great shots!
How are the menus? I want to get a Canon g11 because of the manual controls, but I know it has the same sensor as the s90. So if the menus are ok maybe I can save some money.
I got a g10, and I’m quite pissed off the damn lenses, it’s too dark and in bad lighting situation really sucks. I notice that the f2 of the s90 looks really nice.
Do you know how much smaller is the s90 compared with the g10?.
By the way, awesome pictures.
Also, I noticed you used ISO 2000 in the first picture, how’s the noise around that ISO level?. Could you post a blowup 1:1 of the first one?.
@David yes, the macro is just awesome!
@Lee The menus are very similar to the Canon G11 but even more simple. If you don’t need a huge zoom, you better get an S90 thna a G11
@Fabian yes, the f2 makes it a whole new experience. With daylight the feeling and quality of the pictures are just a slightly better than G10 pictures.

Mmm, has quite a lot of noise, but it suits the black and white pretty well.
very inspiring photographs. Reading up on the S90 now

Amazing photographs!
Does the S90 bought in Japan have English language menu? Thanks.
Hi. I’m travelling to Tokyo for a conference next week. Is there any place in Tokyo I can get a Canon S90 or S95 on the cheap? How much would the price be in US$?
Appreciate any advice you can give me!
