Shinjuku during the last 35 years

My brother and Haripako sent me this video that shows how skyscrapers appear in Shinjuku (Tokyo) since 1969 until 2004.

Shinjuku’s financial area development during the last decades changed the city’s activity area from the “east side” to the “west side”. Lately, some new buildings are being built in the “west side” around Tokyo/Yurakucho/Ginza, maybe the main activity area will go back to the traditional center of Tokyo located around Nihonbashi.

I didn’t have 35 years to take pictures, but here there are some Shinjuku pictures I took during the last 3 years.

Pok-pong

“Pok-pong” is the name of a new product by a company from Thailand called Globalove. They make little voodoo style figures with big heads and they are selling them in the Japanese market. If you have one of these “Pok-pong” figures in your pocket it is supposed to give you good luck, and protect you against evil. Japanese love them because they like any kind of “protection” charm or collectible good.
Dannychoo has zillions of figures, but maybe he needs a Pok-pong to protect his server πŸ˜‰
